Pattamundai College

 Economics as one of the major subjects was opened in Pattamundai College during the academic year 1976-77 with 16 sanctioned strength. Now the student’s strength of the department has increased to 32. Currently the department is functioning with two faculty members namely Mr. Pradyumna Pradhan, Head of the department & Mr. Subhasis Mishra, Lecturer and three sanctioned post is laying vacant since last 04 years.  Apart from the class room teaching, the department of Economics provides special coaching for PG entrance and NET. Since its inception the department has pioneered in providing quality education and has thus able to produce many scholars, intellectuals and educationist. The department is not only imparting up-dated model course curriculum as prescribed by Utkal University in the class room but also make the students to learn  the economy and community  through the various field works. It is trying to outreach the society by undertaking research projects, organising extramural, State and national level seminars. Eminent Professors and distinguished scholars from different universities are invited to contribute in disseminating knowledge and experience to our students. The department maintains a positive relationship   among the students, teachers and the administration which creates harmonious and welcoming learning environments for the students. It helps the students to increase their intellectual accomplishments and learning more effectively.

            The department provides modern information and communication technology facilities, services and support to enhance the teaching and learning aims of the college. The department classroom is fitted with an interactive white board, WIFI which are connected to the network and a Xerox-cum-Printer-cum-Scanner. The department utilizes Google, Google Meet, Zoom, E-Mail and Online storage in the delivery of teaching and learning.
