HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

+3 Science stream was opened in Pattamundai College during the academic year 1989-90 vide G.O. No- 54802/EYS dt.13.12.1990 which then converted to five major subjects amongst which physics is one of them started in the year 1997-98 with 16 seats. Further the seats of honours have been enhanced to 24 vide G.O. No-28772/HE dt.01.10.2016 and RDE No.17714/dt.18.11.2016.

From the very beginning, the department is extremely student friendly and attracts brilliant students to study Physics Honours. It conducts periodical tests to assess and measure students performance. It regularly organizes departmental, Extramural , State Level and National Level seminars on the topics related to modern trends in Physics. Eminent Professors and distinguished Scholars from different Universities across the Nation have visited and contributed to disseminate knowledge to our students.

ICT FACILITIES IN THE DEPARTMENT:

The department provides modern Information and Communication Technology facilities, services and support to enhance the teaching and learning aims of the College. The department classroom is fitted with an Interactive white board and the faculties are provided with a modern laptop, WIFI which are connected to the network. The department utilizes Google, Google Meet, Zoom, E-Journal websites, E-mail and online storage in the delivery of teaching and learning.
