HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT

The department of education as major subject was established in Pattamundai college during the academic year 1997-98 with 16 sanctioned strength of students. Subsequently the academic year 2016-2017 it was converted to 22 seats and during academic year 2019-20- it again increased to 32 seats. The Department of Education provides specialized teaching in comparative studies, special Education, Educational Psychology, Educational Research and methodology, statistics, communicative and creative writing. Since its inception the department has pioneered in providing quality and has thus able to produced scholars, intellectuals and educationist. The department is not only imparting up-dated model course curriculum as prescribed by Utkal university in the classroom but also make the students learn in the community through the various field visit. It is trying to outreach the society by undertaking research project organizing extramural, state and national level seminar. Eminent professors and distinguished scholars from different universities are invited to contribute in disseminating Knowledge and experience to our students. The department maintains a positive relationship among the students, teachers and the administration which creates a harmonious and welcoming learning environment for the students. It helps the students to increase their intellectual’s accomplishments and learning more effectively.

FACULTY POSITION-

Presently two faculties are in the department. Mrs. Nibedita Nayak, Lecturer continuing as head of the department and Mrs. Neerupama Swain, Lecturer working in the department as lecturer and one sectioned post is laying vacant at present.

ICT FACILITIES IN THE DEPARTMENT

The department provides modern information and communication technology facilities, services and support to enhance the teaching and learning aims of the college. The department classroom is fitted with an interactive white board, WIFI which are connected to the network. The department utilizes Google, Google Meet, Zoom, E-Mail and Online storage in the delivery of teaching and learning.
